How We Spent Our Winter Vacation…

at Goldfield Ghost Town and Mine

1. Frequenting questionable establishments

2. Consorting with some real curly wolves

3. Tearing it up on the Superstition Narrow Gauge Railroad

Sporting one very manly mustache…

Goldfield Ghost Town and Mine

Here are some photos of our recent family field trip to Goldfield Ghost Town and Mine! We had so much fun, especially Superboy who wanted to jump right into the action during the gunfights.

It was a cold and cloudy day in the shade of the Superstition Mountains, home of the legendary and cursed Lost Dutchman Gold Mine which people have been looking for since the 1800s…

Had lunch at the Mammoth Saloon…

Superboy fit right in…

I loved this old locomotive!

Superboy locked up in the Goldfield Jail and posing in front of the Mercantile…

Picking out something yummy…

We can’t wait to take the rest of the family when it’s warm enough to pan for gold!

Cut Paper Halloween Witch and Ghosts

This Etsy-style witch was inspired by all the witches I loved as a kid including Samantha from Bewitched, Wendy from Casper the Friendly Ghost and the Wicked Witch of the West from Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz. I had just a tiny piece of the damask scrapbook paper I used for the ghosts and saved it for the right project for a year! Everything is made from hand cut paper with a bit of ink on the ghosts’ faces and acrylic paint for the ghost dust.
