Made a unplanned get away to Pine Canyon in Flagstaff last weekend! The cool air did us all good:
Went for a walk in our pjs one morning and discovered this children’s cabin stocked with toys at the park:

The waiting is over! Here’s my brand new nephew with his mommy and daddy, me, uncle Richard, grandpa Sam, big brother YoYo and Superbaby:
Congratulations to my cousin Dan and his beautiful wife Ashlee who are expecting a baby boy December 31st! That brings the Leatham great-grandchild tally to:
Boys: 5
Girls: 0
This time it’s especially surprising because a week ago the doctor said the baby was a girl! We all thought Dan would be the one to have a daughter because he was the first boy grandchild after so many girls. Looks like that pink afghan won’t be coming out of Grandma Arda’s drawer this year!
I love this hand-crafted guy that I picked up at the Phoenix Zoo gift shop! He’s eco-friendly (like all of my favorite toys!) because he’s organic and fair trade. When I run the stick along his back he makes a beautifully realistic croaking sound.
You can find his Big Brother, who has a very deep croak, at the San Diego Zoo and other little ones like him for sale at http://www.rosiehippo.com/p-1314-frog-family-drumscraper-set.aspx.
